What is your word and why did you chose it?
My word is Purposefully! Every year my husband and I try to pick just one word that can help keep us focused on our goals and our vision for that year. This year my word is ‘purposefully’ and I figured what better word, right? I feel often we get so wrapped up in just going through the motions. We go to work or spend time with family and friends. If I have learned anything in this last year it’s that everything can change in just an instant. For this reason we must try to do all things with a purpose and be present.
What aspirations do you have for yourself in the next 40 years?
We plan to grow Fit Kit Meal with the idea of shipping in the near future. I plan to continue to help others realize and reach their potential. Our goal is to change the world one person at a time while leaving a legacy for our children.
Favorite way to give back to the community?
We love to help support our community in any way necessary, whether that’s showing up and cheering people on, donating meals to families in need or currently helping to give back a percentage of sales to local gyms after their recent and unfortunate closures.
What do you love and/or hate about the Ocala area?
I love the ambiance of Ocala. There is so much beauty to explore on all the local trails and downtown. Ocala helps make getting outside fun and full of scenery and best part is it can be a family affair.
A few albums and movies you’d bring to a deserted island?
I feel anything Ed Sheeran is a win for music. When it comes to movies, I’d be set with the “Harry Potter” series or a good comedy like “Jumanji.“
You never leave home without:
Two items come to mind for me: my lunch box (with Fit Kit Meals in it of course) and water.
If you could tell your 16-year old self one thing:
Just keep going! Often times we have goals or dreams and we think they should happen a certain way or with no hardship and that’s just not the truth. Everything worth having is not easy, but just keep going, putting one foot in front of the other and before you know it you are even further than the dream or goal you set for yourself!
Anything else you’re super passionate about that you’d like to tout:
One of the biggest inspirations for me has been my family. I am so thankful to continuously have their love and support. Find those who will help lift you up and support you and hold on to them as you reach for your goals. You can do it!
