Linda is the owner and publisher of Ocala Magazine and Special Publications, Inc., now in its 34 year of publication. Linda has been a leader in the publishing industry since 1980. During her career, she launched 15 different magazines in Florida and Georgia. She has served as President of the Florida Magazine Association and on the Board of Directors for more than 15 years. She was inducted into the lifetime Hall of Fame of the Florida Magazine Association, given to only 5 publishers in the State of Florida to date, for her contributions towards helping a large number of people start their own magazines. She has also been awarded the FMA Publisher of the Year. She has served on numerous state and city community and industry boards, including Munroe Regional Medical Center Foundation, Marion County Humane Society, Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Council, Florida Women’s Alliance, CF Foundation, Volunteer Service Center, Kimberly’s Cottage, Dance Alive, WUFT and The Florida Women’s Network, which she helped found, to name a few.
Kelli Fuqua Hart
Kelli is an Ocala native. She earned both her Master’s Degree from Webster University and her Bachelor’s Degree from UF. She was named “Ocala’s Most Creative Person; “Best Dressed;” and during all three years of Kelli owning Lilli’s Flowers and Gifts, she was named “Best Florist” three years in a row. Kelli is an artist, known for her eclectic, colorful artwork and handmade products, many of which are made from recycled materials. In addition to writing for Ocala Magazine, Kelli is an active leader in her community engaged with local charities and organizations. She serves as a motivational speaker, founder of “Operation Feed 100,” which feeds over 100 homeless and at-risk locals every Christmas Day, a local “Best Of” entrepreneur, a Forty under 40 Recipient and most rewarding, a mother. Kelli hosts Ocala Magazine Radio every Friday morning on WOCA, where she discusses various topics and brings the pages of the magazine to life on-air! In 2014, in her first year as Editor with Ocala Magazine, Kelli won a Florida Magazine Association (FMA) award for “Writing Excellence: Best Editorial/Commentary/Opinion” and “Best Overall Consumer Magazine in the State” Charlie Award. Likewise, Kelli was a finalist for “Communicator of the Year” in 2014.
Barbara Stanton is the bookkeeper and office manager with 25 years’ experience and is proficient with Quikbooks Pro. She has 40 years experience in the horse business including 25 years breeding and racing Thoroughbreds. For the past 6 years, she has been an Amateur Astronomer and owns 5 telescopes. She is currently learning to take deep space photographs using her telescopes and a DSLR camera. She has been married for 45 years, has 2 grown children and 1 grandson who is in the Army. He has served 2 tours in Afghanistan and is deploying to Germany in the fall.
R. Jill Fink, B.Sc., MFA
A native Floridian, Jill re-located to Ocala from Fort Pierce in 1968. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s of Science in Communications from Kaplan University in 2012. Since then, she’s earned a Master’s of Fine Art in Media Design from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. She will graduate from Full Sail with her second MFA, this time in Creative Writing for the Entertainment Industry, in May of this year. Jill is a freelance writer, tutor, graphic designer, and artist.
Andrea is a full-flavored multicultural native Floridian. As music lover, writer, and fully conversant in Spanish, she enjoys the best of both the English and Spanish musical worlds, as she wishes to pursue a career in music journalism. She is presently attending West Port High School as well as the College of Central Florida, via the dual enrollment program, setting her tracts to receiving an Associate’s Degree in Mass Communications by the time she graduates high school. Andrea has worked as copy editor for the school yearbook for the past three years. She will also be named as yearbook Editor in Chief for her senior year. Andrea sought an internship at Ocala Magazine under the mentorship of Kelli Hart in order continue paving the way for her dreams and aspirations. As editorial intern for Ocala Magazine, she is gaining valuable experience in her pursued field. Thanks to the invaluable help Kelli Hart and the rest of the magazine staff has provided, Andrea was able to publish her first article at the age of sixteen. Andrea aims to write articles about musicians in the continuum from up-and-coming artist to world renowned legends. For Andrea, her passion for writing and her love of music are the perfect match.
As a freelance writer, Manresa started her career by contributing regularly to Knoji (previously Factoidz), an online expert advice forum. She has also authored two books published by Atlantic Publishing, “How to Open and Operate a Financially Successful Import Export Business” (published in 2010) and “Learning How to Say No When You Usually Say Yes” (published in 2011). Manresa has been writing for Ocala Magazine since April 2012. A St. Leo University magna cum laude graduate, Manresa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
