When you visit Griffin Automotive’s large 8,000 square foot facility you are greeted by quiet, clean and serene surroundings flush with shaded oak trees and a selection of sprawling plants. Personal artwork created by the owner, Dan Griffin, along with 34 years of dealership certificates and awards, hang on the shop’s walls.

Griffin Automotive incorporates original factory parts, award-winning factory trained technicians, current computer diagnostic capabilities and the correct factory tools to offer dealership-level service and repair for these manufacturers at a substantial savings in both time and money.

“My father is a retired engineer for Jet Propulsion Labs in Pasadena, California, says owner Dan Griffin. "He was my mentor growing up. We started racing Lotus Elan sports cars when I was very young. My father taught me machine shop skills and the proper engineering and diagnostic practices to go as he said, ‘from Alpha to Omega’ and get the job done correctly, the first time.”

Griffin opened Griffin Automotive after 16 years of BMW factory dealership experience. He started his career with BMW in Los Angeles, attending periodic BMW factory training.

“The dealership training is intense," Griffin says. But the intense training yielded impressive results. In 1993, the BMW District Service Manager informed Griffin he won the regional award that year.  “It took me 11 years to win it,” he says.

In 1989, Griffin moved to Ocala, where he worked for the local BMW dealership, Premier BMW, until the dealership closed its doors. Griffin then relocated to Jacksonville and worked for Tom Bush BMW before returning to Ocala to open his own shop.

Griffin Automotive is Marion County’s only independent Mercedes Benz, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo and Mini repair facility that is an authorized Robert Bosch Corporation repair shop. The Bosch Corporation approves only those repair shops that meet its strict requirements, not only for the facility's standards, but also in the areas of technician training and diagnostic capabilities, which ensure accurate diagnoses and repairs in a timely, cost effective manner.

The Bosch Corporation affiliation also offers a nationwide warranty, honored by other Bosch-authorized repair shops across the U.S. and Canada, which no other independent repair shops in Marion County offer.

Griffin Automotive receives two daily part deliveries from their Orlando warehouse. “This way, we can deliver the customer’s vehicle in a timely manner,” says Griffin. “We have many customers that will drive 60 or more miles to see us, so we work very hard to ensure the correct parts are here at the correct price.”
